BUCKINGHAM — A 60-year-old Scottsville man was seriously injured after his motorcycle struck a bear on Route 20 recently.

According to State Police, a 2010 Honda VT1300CT was traveling south on Route 20 at about 9:15 p.m. on Aug. 22 when it collided with a bear in the roadway.

“The motorcyclist, Charles Felker Jr. … was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries,” State Police Spokeswoman Corinne Geller said.

Felker was wearing a helmet, she said.

The accident occurred on Route 20 less than a mile north of Route 679.
