Fire guts home in Buckingham

- Volunteer firefighters from Dillwyn and Glenmore responded to the blaze Thursday night.
BUCKINGHAM — A two-alarm fire destroyed a single-story home at 2795 Troublesome Creek Road late Thursday night.
According to Dillwyn Volunteer Fire Department Chief Jason Wharam, the fire was reported at about 9 p.m. Crews found the house fully engulfed in flames once on scene.
There’s no word on the cause of the fire, he said. At least three people were displaced as a result of the incident.
No one was injured. Volunteers from Glenmore Fire Department assisted, said Wharam.
The chief encouraged homeowners to install working smoke detectors in their homes.
