Deacon George Taylor, 86, of Cumberland, departed this life on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at his residence in Cumberland.

He is survived by his wife, Marion L. Taylor; his daughters, Joyce Smithey, Marjorie (Jessie) Harney, Carolyn Waddy, Sandra (Johnny) Gordon, and Bertha (Robert) Walker; six grandchildren, Daryl (Crystal) Harney, Charisse Jones, DeNina Hopkins, Justin (Nukeya) Walker, Kristen Walker and Taylor Gordon;  13 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren;  along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, at noon, at Farmville Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Cumberland, with interment in the Johnson Family Cemetery. Viewing will be held one hour prior to service.

Marian Gray Thomas Funeral Home of Cumberland is in charge of services.
