Covington to speak at Historical Society

The Farmville –Prince Edward Historical Society will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Historic Farmville Train Station, 510 W. Third Street. Edwina Covington, retired teacher and author of the Elam-Area News column for The Farmville Herald, will be the speaker.
She will give a PowerPoint presentation on the history of rural education in Prince Edward County, featuring schools in the Prospect-Pamplin area and touching on the Hardy School and Hixburg, Buffalo, Darlington Heights, and Madisonville schools.
