Tiera Butler, a junior at Cumberland County High School, traveled to Washington, D.C. this summer as part of a seven-member student delegation that participated in Citizenship Washington Focus
The week-long 4-H citizenship program for youth 14-19 provided learning opportunities in the areas of leadership development, civic and social responsibility. The educational excursion was sponsored by Cooperative Extension at Virginia State University. Students interacted with other delegates from across the country, participated in workshops, visited historical sites and met with members of Congress.
