Investigation Continues In Meherrin-Area Drug Bust

MEHERRIN — A July 6 drug bust in the Meherrin area of Lunenburg County resulted in the Tri-County Drug and Gang Task Force discovering almost one million dollars in drugs and other items, according to The Kenbridge-Victoria Dispatch.
According to the paper, the task force obtained a search warrant and then seized “302 marijuana plants valued at $906,000, 10 pounds of processed marijuana valued at $35,000, two ounces of hash oil valued at $400 and two firearms valued at $200.”
The event led to an arrest of one individual who has been charged with manufacturing marijuana and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The task force, which contains narcotics investigators from sheriff’s offices in Lunenburg and Charlotte and the Virginia State Police, is continuing the investigation on the drug operation, according to the Dispatch.
