PUBLIC HEARING

The Cumberland County Board of Supervisors will meet on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as may be heard, in the Circuit Courtroom of Cumberland County in Cumberland, Virginia, to conduct public hearings pursuant to Virginia Code Section 15.2-1427, which such hearings may be continued or adjourned, as required under applicable law, and to consider the following items and taking actions in furtherance thereof:

Rezoning 15-03 Atkins- A rezoning request of approximately 8.2 acres of property, currently zoned R-1 and A-2, Agricultural to B-2, Business District, Limited.  This property is located at 1547 Cumberland Road, Tax Parcel 110AHA-4.  The property is located in a high intensity growth area as designated on the Comprehensive Plan.  The property is currently in use as a home and is planned to be a pottery and antiques shop.  The property is located in Election District 5.

Rezoning 15-04 Spears- A rezoning request of approximately 2.0 acres of property, currently zoned R-2 with a Conditional Use Permit for a restaurant to B-1, Business. This property is located at 1875 Anderson Highway, Tax Parcel 65-A3-A-49.  The property is located in a high intensity growth area as designated on the Comprehensive Plan.  The property is currently in use as a restaurant and is planned to continue as a restaurant.  The property is located in Election District 3.

Code Amendment (CA) 15-09, Buffers – A proposal to require buffers for new commercial development or redevelopment adjacent to residential uses.

Copies of the complete text of the above Ordinance Amendments and rezoning requests are available for public review at the office of the Cumberland County Planning Department, County Administration Building, 1 Courthouse Circle, Cumberland, Virginia between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm of each business day.  The public is invited to attend this hearing at which persons affected may appear and present their views.
