Tiyana Blanton, a 2011 graduate of Prince Edward County High School, graduated from Old Dominion University in Norfolk on May 9 with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing.

In June 2015, she successfully completed the Virginia State Licensure Examination (N-clex) for registered nurses, and has accepted a full time position at Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk.

Tiyana is the daughter of Silas and Tonya Blanton, of Farmville. She is also the granddaughter of Erenest and Alice Miller, Rosa Nell Blanton, Howard Smith, all of Farmville, and Gertrude Rivera, of New Jersey.
