The eighth grade class at Prince Edward County Middle School celebrated their achievements during a graduation ceremony on June 4. The theme was “A Celebration of Roots and Wings.”  Middle School Principal Ms. Lucy B. Carson challenged students to continue their growth as leaders by practicing the habits they have learned through the “Leader in Me” program.  Students surprised the principal with gifts from the 8th grade class, including a book of student letters on the topic, “What I wish my principal knew…”  Ms. Carson is retiring after 30 years of service to Prince Edward County Schools.  She concluded the ceremony by telling students that while their time at the Middle School had ended, she was confident that they were prepared for the next step of their journey.
