Hoot At The Moon At High Bridge

CUMBERLAND — Celebrate the Fourth of July at High Bridge in the cool of the evening on this open trail night, Saturday, July 4. Meet a park interpreter on High Bridge to listen for various owl species answering recorded calls. In the past, great horned owls, barred owls, and screech owls have been heard in the vicinity of High Bridge. The program will start at 8:30 p.m., but plan on arriving at the River Road Parking area by 8 p.m. to allow for walking time to the bridge.
This program is free, but a parking fee of $4 per vehicle will apply to visitors parking at River Road access. Visitors who bicycle from Farmville or Rice are required to have an operating headlight and rear reflector. The trail should be clear of visitors by 10:45 p.m.
