Edith Davis Brooks Wamsley (Eday)

GEORGIA, JUNE 30 — Edith Davis Brooks Wamsley (Eday) of Tucker, GA died Saturday, June 27, 2015 at her home.  Eday was born in Burkeville, the daughter of the late Edgar Davis Brooks and Ruby Overton Brooks and grew up in Farmville.  She attended Farmville State Teachers College, now Longwood University, and graduated from the Medical College of Virginia with a B.S. in Nursing.  She was employed at Southside Community Hospital and later worked as a nurse for Longwood College.  She was a member of the National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, Judith Randolph Chapter, in Farmville, and the Decatur First United Methodist Church of Decatur, GA.

Mrs. Wamsley is survived by her husband, Jacob H. Wamsley, II (Jake); one son, Jacob H. Wamsley, III (Jay) and his wife, Kelley; and three grandchildren, Jacob Wamsley, IV, Cyrena Harrington and Addison Wamsley.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 1 at 2 p.m. at Westview Cemetery in Farmville.
