The Judith Randolph-Longwood Chapter/VADAR presented a DAR Good Citizens Award to the New Life Schools’ selection, Macaliah Dawn Folz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Foltz, at its March meeting at the Farmville-Prince Edward Community Library.

Folz received a cash award, a DAR Good Citizen pin, a certificate and a wallet recognition card. She is recognized as the senior who has demonstrated in an outstanding way: dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism.

The local NSDAR Chapter finds the DAR Good Citizens program a wonderful way to recognize outstanding young people who exhibit the qualities of good citizenship in their homes, schools and communities. Folz has demonstrated these qualities in a wide range of activities. She has served with missions in New York City and Ecuador, served as a volunteer for GO Ministries, received the Coach’s Award in basketball, and served in the dance and drama ministry.
