The Judith Randolph-Longwood Chapter/NSDAR’s 2015 Good Citizens Award winner chosen by Prince Edward High School is David Preston Gills, son of Mr. and Mrs. Watt and Teresa Gills.

David was also recognized as the chapter’s DAR Good Citizens Essay winner.  His essay “Our American Heritage and our Responsibility for Preserving It: What Does Our Past Tell Us About our Future?” represented the chapter in the VADAR District contest.

The DAR Good Citizens program is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship. The program is open to all high school seniors who have the following qualities: dependability (truthfulness, honest, punctuality); service (cooperation, helpfulness, responsibility); leadership (personality, self-control, initiative); patriotism (unselfish loyalty to American ideals).
