Party In The Pocket Park

A party in Dillwyn’s new pocket park will be held on Thursday, July 2 from 6-8 p.m. at the intersection of Main and Oak streets in Dillwyn. There will be music, good, vendors and more. The event is sponsored by the Town of Dillwyn.

Ellis Acres Available

Ellis Acres Memorial Park on Camden Street in Dillwyn is making its picnic pavilion and grounds available for July 4th activities. A grill, charcoal and water will be provided. Anyone who wants to come must bring their own food and drinks. The park will be available from 1-4 p.m. No alcoholic drinks are allowed. Call 983-5600 for more information.

Mourner’s Valley Service Changes

During the month of July, Mourner’s Valley Baptist Church in Dillwyn will have worship service at 10:30 a.m. on the first, second, third and fourth Sundays of the month. Sunday School is at 9:30 a.m. Adult Bible study will take place on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. A program titled “What’s Cooking With The First Lady” will take place on the second Saturday of each month at 11 a.m.

Barn Grand Opening

The Buckingham Agricultural Resource Network, or BARN, will hold its grand opening on Tuesday, June 30 at 1 p.m. at the facility located on U.S. Route 60 just west of the court house village. Dinner tickets will be provided to the first 100 members of the public. There will be numerous activities going on, including demonstrations, vendors and a highway discussion for farmers and loggers.

Oak Hill Homecoming

The Oak Hill Baptist Church will hold homecoming services on July 5, with the morning service starting at 11 a.m. Evangelist Elizabeth Bolden will bring the message. Lunch will be served following the service. The afternoon service will be at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. R.Q. Lawing bringing the message with the Second Liberty Baptist Church choir and ushers. All are invited to attend.

Zion Baptist Program

The Zion Baptist Church in Dillwyn will have a gospel program featuring the Old Ship of Zion and The Sons of Sinai of Richmond on Sunday, June 28, at 3 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
