4-H Thanks Volunteers

Twelve Buckingham 4-H teen leaders and several members of Buckingham Extension thanked their 4-H volunteers with a lovely slideshow detailing their activities throughout the year, a spaghetti banquet, certificates, and gifts of appreciation. During the banquet, the tables are turned, and 4-H volunteers are served by 4-H youth. The 4-H youth make this role-reversal special using their time to turn the Agriculture Building into a banquet hall, prepare the meal, and seat and serve all the banquet attendees throughout the evening. Thirty-four volunteers were able to attend the banquet out of the 147 total 4-H volunteers in Buckingham County. The value of all the volunteers’ combined hours is approximately $60,000 annually and is fundamental to Buckingham 4-H’s mission in the county.
