With the winter storm set to hit the area Monday, the Town of Farmville and Prince Edward County asks that residents of the county and town requiring assistance with emergency shelter to call the non-emergency telephone numbers of either the Farmville Communications Center—434-392-3332, or the Prince Edward County Sheriff’s Office—434-392-8101.

Cumberland officials have not announced specific shelter information but have indicated they are prepared to open warming shelters. Food and logistics are in place for an emergency shelter, if needed.

Buckingham does not plan to open a shelter at this time.
