PROSPECT — Three candidates running for the Prospect board of supervisors seat are scheduled to appear at an October 16 debate at the Prospect Firehouse.
The candidates, Calvin Gray, Jeannette A. Tarlton, and Cornell E. Walker Sr., are all vying to fill the unexpired three years of the late Howard “Pete” Campbell. Mr. Campbell passed away in July and County supervisors in a split vote selected Gray to serve in the interim.
The election is scheduled for November 4.
The debate, which is scheduled to start at 7 p.m., will include a moderator; refreshments will be available.
The event is sponsored by local resident Furman Joye.
“I believe that an Open Debate between the candidates is essential in order that the voters of the Prospect Voting District may ascertain the best person to serve as their representative on the Board of Supervisors,” Joye said in an email to The Herald.
All are invited to attend, but only those registered to vote in the Prospect District will be permitted to question the candidates.
