I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Cumberland Sheriff’s Office, Cumberland and Randolph Volunteer Fire Departments, Cumberland and Cartersville Volunteer Rescue Squads, Virginia State Police, all rescue workers and dogs, friends, family and volunteers that helped find my mother, Janet Speas, on September 13. I would like also like to thank Cumberland Sheriff Darrell Hodges for coordinating the rescue effort.
