MASSACHUSETTS, August 12 — W. Rodney Thomas, 47, of Mattapoisett, MA went home with the Lord on Tuesday, July 1, 2014.

Mr. Thomas was a Financial Planner with Morgan Stanley for 23 years. He was a graduate of Monacan High School class of 1984.

He loved life and lived it to the fullest.

If ever there was a “Mother’s” perfect son, it was Rodney.

Mr. Thomas is survived by the loves of his life, his children, Caroline, Ryon, Dylon and Drew, all of Mattapoisett; his parents, Linwood and Agnes Thomas of Richmond; a brother, David Thomas and his wife, Lauri of Mechanicsville; and a sister, Debra Durocher and her husband, Troy of Fredericksburg. He was the grandson of Stuart and Lottie Thomas, and Aubrey and Bertha Toney of Buckingham.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 17 at 2 p.m. in the Bethlehem Baptist Church, 9600 Midlothian Pike, Richmond. The family will receive guests from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service.
