May 15 — Happy Birthday wishes go out this week to Pasty Miles of Cumberland, celebrating on Thursday, May 15; Susie Taylor, of Dillwyn, celebrating on Wednesday, May 21, and Kathy Midkiff, of Dillwyn, celebrating on Thursday, May 22.

Barry and Linda Miles, of Cumberland, along with Annie May Miles, of Dillwyn, enjoyed Mother’s Day lunch at a Dillwyn restaurant on Sunday, May 11.

Ralph and Fern Dunnanvant, of Dillwyn, spent Mother’s Day with her special mom, Myrtle Gibson, of Covington.

Note: The annual Hudgins Family Reunion will be held on Sunday, May 18 from noon till 5 p.m. at the home of James and Virginia Boyles in Cumberland.

Maranatha Baptist Church, located on Tuggle Road in Prince Edward County, will host a missionary on Sunday, May 25. Mike Ward, a missionary to Africa, will be presenting messages on missions during the 10 a.m. Sunday school hour, 11 a.m. morning worship hour and the Sunday event 6 p.m. service.

Dinner will include homemade spaghetti, garlic bread, tossed salad, dessert and a drink. A suggested donation for adults is $7 and $3 for children. It is available to takeout or eat-in.

Maple Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church, located on Meadow Creek Road in Virginia, will host revival and homecoming. Revival services will be held May 15-17 at 7 p.m. nightly. Homecoming services will be held on Sunday May 18 at 10:45 a.m. with lunch following the service worship service. There will be special music in all services. Earl Ragland will be the guest speaker. Everyone is cordially invited to attend.

Buckingham Baptist Church of Gold Hill hosts a fellowship meal and bible Study. Wednesday supper is served from 5:15 – 6:15 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. A complete meal is $3 per person; those ages three years and under free. There is a maximum cost of $12 per family. Following the meal is a Bible Study. Pastor Doug Adams and the congregation cordially invite all to attend.
