January 9 — Happy Birthday wishes go out to Angie Sprouse, of Buckingham, and Barbara Barone, of Cumberland, celebrating on Friday, January 10, and Mary Dimmie, of Farmville, and Margaret Cole, of Cumberland, celebrating on Tuesday, January 14.

Annie May Miles, of Dillwyn, along with her son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Linda Miles, of Cumberland, enjoyed an afternoon meal at a Farmville Restaurant and then visited in the home of James and Virginia Boyles in Cumberland on Saturday, January 4.

Sympathy is extended to our dear and special friend in Christ, Ruby Cogdill, of Cumberland, in the home going of her sister, Azlea Shelton, 81, of Burnsville, North Carolina. She passed away on New Year’s Day morning.

Congratulations to a special couple, Ralph and Fern Dunnavant, of Dillwyn. They will celebrate their wedding anniversary on Sunday, January 12.

Barry and Linda Miles, Patricia Woodfin, of New Canton, Susie Taylor and Judy Durand of Dillwyn, all enjoyed an afternoon meal and great time of fellowship at a Farmville Restaurant on Sunday, January 5.

Due to the death of a member of the Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association, their regular monthly meeting on Saturday, January 11, has be postponed to Saturday, January 18 at 1 p.m. at Cactus Jax Restaurant in Arvonia. All members and perspective members are asked to attend and plan to pay for their own meal.

Union Branch Baptist Church, located in Arvonia, will not be hosting their January Food Distribution on Saturday, January 11. It has been rescheduled for January 25 from 9 a.m. to noon. Due to a death in the church family. Recipients must be a Buckingham County resident to receive one box per household. Boxes are served on a first-come, first-serve basis or until all food is gone. Effective January 1, individuals will no longer be able to pickup food boxes for anyone else other than yourself.
