DILLWYN — The traditional Dillwyn Christmas Parade comes with a side of change this year.
It’s on Sunday, December 8, at 3 p.m. instead of the traditional Saturday morning venue.
Still, though, it’ll be in its traditional location of downtown Dillwyn.
The theme of this year’s parade will be “Through A Child’s Eyes.”
In addition to the parade, Santa Claus will be at the Town Hall to greet children and the young at heart following the parade.
Awards given will include best in show, best in theme, most creative, and most spirited.
Family members of the late J. Ervin Toney, former Dillwyn mayor and council member, will serve as grand marshals of the parade.
The parade lineup will begin at 2 p.m. at the Central Virginia Christian School in Dillwyn, on Industrial Park Road.
Parade participants will be accepted at the lineup location according to Sarah Davis Walker, the town council member who is organizing the parade. Carl and Diane James will be lining up the participants, according to Walker.
