From 8 a.m. to dismissal, Virginia Silveira Gills read nonstop in a homey “Living Room” constructed on the cafeteria stage at Cumberland Elementary School on Friday, November 15. Surrounded by student artwork and cozy furniture donated by Green Front Furniture, Assistant Principal Gills was competing in the BOOK IT! Principal Challenge. Gills was joined by students of all grade-levels throughout the day. Following the event, Gills told The Herald with her characteristic enthusiasm, “I love a challenge and this one was really fun.
