FREDERICKSBURG, October 8 — Vicki Lash Sharkey, 52, of Fredericksburg, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2013 at her home. She was born in Hawaii to Richard P., a USMC officer, and Dorothy O. Lash on January 11, 1961. Raised in Farmville, she graduated from Prince Edward Academy and attended James Madison University before becoming a legal assistant. Vicki worked for the last several years in the same role for attorney Robert Scott Pugh.

More than anything, she loved the company of her family and many friends. Whether on yearly family trips to Emerald Isle, NC, at concerts or playing trivia, she enjoyed having those dear to her near.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Stephen Sharkey; son, Stephen Ryan of Fredericksburg; daughters, Robyn Leigh (Josh) and Samantha Jo of Fredericksburg; sisters, Sue Ellen (Rob), Leslie (Trent) and Betsy (Shawn) all of Richmond; nephews, Zach, Smith and Keegan; and nieces Jake, Kaleigh, Paige, Meara and Angelina.

The family received friends on Monday, Oct. 7 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. The family plans to scatter her ashes in Emerald Isle.
