OCTOBER 1 — Harold “Butch” LeGrand Sr., 71, passed away Monday, September 30, 2013. He was born on June 1, 1942 in Farmville.

Mr. LeGrand is survived by his wife, Pearlie F LeGrand; two sons, Harold LeGrand Jr. (Debra) and James LeGrand (Judy); two stepdaughters, Judy Ownby (Tom) and Debbie Garrett (Johnny); stepson, Kenneth Giles Jr. (Rhonda); numerous step grandchildren; step great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Burton Smith (Connie) and Dale LeGrand. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold LeGrand, mother, Eva Mottley Smith, sister, Nancy Beunger, and his first wife, Geraldine Hill LeGrand.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home.

Graveside service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Meherrin United Methodist Church Cemetery, Meherrin.
