BUCKINGHAM, September 17 — James David Whorley, 81, of Buckingham, died Saturday, September 14, 2013 at his home. He was born September 9, 1932 in Buckingham County, the son of the late William Whitcomb Whorley and Susie Lann Whorley and the widower of Ruby Amos Whorley.

He is survived by a son, David Kent Whorley and wife Diane; granddaughter, Amy L. Whorley and three great-grandchildren, Shaeleah Whorley, Brennan Herndon and Brayden Wright, all of Buckingham.

Funeral services were held Monday, September 16 at Dunkum Funeral Home with interment in Buckingham Community Cemetery with masonic rites.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Buckingham Volunteer Rescue Squad.
