ORANGE, June 27 – James M. Garnett Jr., “Jay”, 42, of Orange, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013.
Mr. Garnett was an Insurance Agent for Farm Bureau Insurance Company. He was a graduate of Emory and Henry College; a member of Beta Lambda Zeta; a member of the Ruritans; and a member of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine Beasley Garnett of Orange; three sons, James M. Garnett III, Carson B. Garnett, and Jackson T. Garnett; parents, James M. and Catherine J. Garnett; sister, Susanne Garnett Williams and husband, Jeffrey; two nephews, Ben Williams and Bryan Williams all of Charlotte Court House; an aunt, Elizabeth J. Ward and husband, Don W. Ward and children; two uncles, Tate Jackson and wife, DeAnna Jackson and their son, Tom Garnett and wife, Bonnie Garnett and children.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 30 in Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, Charlotte Court House, with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Preddy Funeral Home in Orange on Friday, June 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. and at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville on Saturday, June 29 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Flowers are welcomed or contributions may be made to the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church.
