CARTERSVILLE, June 20 – Helen Peyton Bowles, 87, of Cartersville, widow of Russell Bowles, went to be with our Lord Jesus on Tuesday, June 18, 2013. She devoted her life to Christ and her family.

She is survived by her children, Russell Lewis Bowles, Gladys Preas (Noland), Catherine Kirkland (James), Frances Lawson, Judy Lawson (Phil), and Joyce Davila (Oscar); grandchildren; great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson and special friends. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, James “Doc” Lawson.

The family received friends at the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 20.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 21 in Fork of Willis Church Cemetery, Cumberland.

Memorial contributions be made to the Cartersville Volunteer Rescue Squad.
