PAMPLIN, June 27 – Elizabeth M. Brochard, 93, of Pamplin, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2013. She was born in New York, NY on May 14, 1920 to the late Maria Farley Dempsey and William Dempsey. She moved to Virginia in 1983 and lived in Pamplin.

Mrs. Brochard was a very active member of the AARP, and served as first chapter president. She was also a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church and retired as personnel director at Southside Hospital, Bay Shore, NY.

She is survived by four sons, Guy Brochard (Theresa) of Pamplin, Dean Brochard (Martha Ann) of Andersonville, Roger Brochard (Bernadette) of MT Sinai, NY and Brian Brochard (Lois) of Miller Place, NY; sister, Lorraine Shaw of St. Petersburg, FL; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She is the widow of Frances Raymond Brochard.

Family will have a memorial service on Monday, July 1 at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Puckett Funeral Home.
