CUMBERLAND – A court date has been set for four individuals arrested in relation to what police described as a “major drug bust” in Cumberland County on February 24.
The four individuals, whose names were given to The Herald by Cumberland police, were each charged with a class five felony, described as: “sell, give, distribute, or possess with the intent to sell, give, or distribute more than one-half once, but less than five pounds of marijuana.”
Three of the individuals are identified as Cumberland residents in the arrest warrants: Darron Christopher Boatwright, Yusuf Amir Johnson and Sharod Markal Patterson.
The fourth individual charged, Kimberly Brown, is listed in the warrant with a Richmond address.
All four are scheduled to appear in Cumberland General District Court on August 22, according to the General District Court Online Case Information System.
Cumberland Commonwealth's Attorney Patricia Scales explained the later court date. “It's a question of having adequate time with the case, with these many defendants, to make sure…the court date agrees with all of the counsel,” she said.
Scales confirmed that each of the four defendants has their own counsel.
In short, Scales summarized, the later hearing was scheduled after finding a court date that worked for everyone, including the commonwealth.
