GREEN BAY, May 21 – Butch Thaxton, 67, of Green Bay, formerly of Sissonville, WV, passed away suddenly, Thursday, May 16, 2013 at his home. He was the son of Okie and Mabel Thaxton.
Mr. Thaxton was the owner of the former Shoney's in Farmville. He was the kindest man you would ever meet and would give you the shirt off his back. He loved to play poker, golf and just sit outside and enjoy the day.
He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 41 years, Brenda Thaxton. He is also survived by two sons, Steve and daughter-in-law, Melisa Thaxton of WV, and Curtis and daughter-in-law, Melissa Thaxton of CT; two grandchildren, Bailey and Brittany; two sisters, Bessie Gandee and Sissy Patterson of WV; mother-in-law, Barbara Cox; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends that loved him dearly.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, May 21 at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville.
The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home, Keysville, was in charge of arrangements.
