March is “Brain Injury Awareness Month.” In the past, brain injury was primarily due to accidents and falls. Many of our servicemen and servicewomen return home with brain injuries. We are now more aware of brain injuries as a result of concussions and surgeries. The result is that more people in our area are living with brain injuries.

Help is available for survivors and their caregivers. The Farmville Area Brain Injury Support Group meets monthly at Centra Southside Hospital on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 11:45 a.m. in the small conference room beside the cafeteria.
