January 3 – Happy Birthday wishes go out to T.J. (Tommy Jo) Waycaster of Dillwyn, celebrating on Saturday, January 5; Rev. Clyde Senger of Crewe, pastor of the Keysville Baptist Temple, celebrating on Sunday, January 6; Ann Carter of Dillwyn, celebrating on Wednesday, January 9; and Angie Sprouse, of Buckingham and Barbara Barone, of Cumberland, celebrating on Thursday, January 10.
Happy Belated Birthday wishes go out to Margaret (Tweety Bird) Yates, of Dillwyn, celebrating on Saturday, December 29 and Barbara Wyland, of Scottsville, celebrating on December 30.
James and Virginia Boyles, of Cumberland, along with Elizabeth Stone, of Dillwyn, attended Mildred Croxton's Sunday School Class luncheon on Friday, December 21 at a Richmond restaurant. Everyone enjoyed a nice time. They also visited several homes including Stone's daughter, Linda Seay, in Richmond, and that of Gene and Sandra Dandridge in Amelia.
Pete and Annie May Miles, of Dillwyn, visited in the home of Curtis and Faye Marion in Cumberland on Wednesday, January 2.
Sympathy is extended to the Wright family in California. Ann Wright, 92, of Pomona, California (formerly of Richmond), went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 10. A funeral service followed later in California. She was a member of the Hudgins family locally. She will be greatly missed by all.
A large crowed attended the annual Christmas Morning Brunch at the home of T.J. (Tommy Jo) and Stephanie Waycaster and their children Blake, Jacksyn and Cece all of Dillwyn.
Barry and Linda Miles, of Cumberland, along with Tina Cook and Holly Cook, of Midlothian all enjoyed an evening of great food, fun and fellowship at a Powhatan Restaurant on Friday evening, December 21 in honor of Linda Miles 50th birthday and also their annual Christmas get together.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those who are sick and shut-in.
Barry and Linda Miles had a nice time in the home of his parents, Pete and Annie May Miles, in Dillwyn on Christmas Eve for their annual Christmas Supper.
A large crowd enjoyed the annual Christmas lunch at the home of James and Virginia Boyles on Sunday, December 23.
Barry and Linda Miles enjoyed an evening meal in the home of Chuck and Nancy Fairchild and her mother, Ella R. Snoddy, all of New Canton, on Saturday evening, December 22.
Congratulations to Mary A. Martin, of Cumberland, who celebrated her 100th birthday on Friday, December 21. She received over 150 cards, lots of calls and visits. May God bless her and her family for many years to come.
The following people were at the home of Ruby Cogdill, of Cumberland, on Wednesday, December 26 in honor of Ruby's birthday: Jimmy and Judy Cogdill of Powhatan; Boo and Peggy Weaver and daughter of Chester; and Tommy and Mary Davis of Sutherland and their daughter Angie Goshen of Amelia. Everyone enjoyed the fellowship. A large crowd of family members also enjoyed an annual Christmas Day luncheon.
Ann Carter, of Dillwyn, spent Christmas with her sister, Dot Brown, and her family in Richmond and had a nice time.
Barry and Linda Miles visited several patients at Heritage Hall in Dillwyn on Tuesday, December 25.

The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association, a non-profit organization, will be entering into their 25th year (silver anniversary) as a group. On Saturday, January 12 at 1 p.m. at Welcome Wesleyan Church in New Canton (located on U.S. Route 15 North of Dillwyn) will host their kick off meeting and membership drive for 2013. All former members and prospective members are asked to attend.

Arvonia Christian Fellowship Church, located off of U.S. 15 North of Dillwyn in Arvonia on State Route 672, will host a Bluegrass Gospel Sing on Sunday, January 6 at 1 p.m. featuring True Spirit from Richmond. A love offering will be received. Following this will be a buffet lunch in the church fellowship hall. All are cordially invited to attend. The Arvonia Christian Fellowship Church Thrift Store, located off of U.S. Route 15 North of Dillwyn on Circle Drive in Arvonia, is open Monday through Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All proceeds from the thrift store are used to help individuals and families in their hour of need.
