Robbery Reported In PE

PRINCE EDWARD – According to a Prince Edward County Sheriff's Department release, at approximately 8:15 p.m. Friday, December 28, an employee at Granny B's Market (located on Abilene Road) called into the Prince Edward County Sheriff's Office and advised that they had been robbed at gunpoint, with the subjects fleeing on foot.

“Within minutes of the report,” the release states, “Prince Edward deputies, Hampden-Sydney College officers, and the State Police arrived at the store and secured the crime scene. During the investigation, deputies learned that the two subjects were dressed in dark-colored clothing. One subject was described as being between 6'1 and 6'2. The other subject was described as being approximately 5'8 to 5'10.”

(It was clarified by the department that both of the subjects were male.)

According to the release an undisclosed amount of cash was taken during the robbery.
