Editor, The Herald:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the subscribers of The Herald who gave their carrier a tip this Christmas Season. It was a thoughtful thing to do. I have two boys who deliver a total of six routes and as a parent, I can attest to the fact that sometimes it's a real task. When one considers the hundred plus degree days, cold days, rainy (sometimes heavy) days, then add a few icy or snowy days, it puts these youngsters to the test to always see that every subscriber on their route gets his or her paper on time and in good condition. That tip, however small, is much appreciated and makes a big difference to the carriers.

Thanks again to each of you who took the time to recognize the carriers for the job they do and to say a special “thanks” to these young boys and girls.
