MEHERRIN, January 24 – Christopher Ryan Payne was born September 18, 1970 in Meherrin to the late Helen Sue Hester Payne and Lucus Payne of Keysville. He departed this life to be with the Savior on Friday, January 11, 2013 at Manacore Nursing Home.

He leaves to cherish his memories four sisters, Carol Payne (Wayne) of Richmond, Barbara Payne of Seattle, WA, Amy Payne-Scott (Anthony) and Tabatha Payne, all of Richmond; aunts, Laura Watson of Meherrin, Lisa Davis and Mary Smith of Baltimore, MD, Rosa Payne of Norfolk, Patty Payne of Keysville and Ann Payne of Lunenburg; uncles, Eugene Hester, Roy Payne and Michael Payne, all of Keysville, Joe Epps of Lunenburg and Marcellous Hester of Baltimore, MD and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He will be greatly missed by a very close nephew, Cleveland Payne, who was always at his bedside reading and praying with him.

A funeral service was held Saturday, January 19 at New Bethel Baptist Church, Meherrin, with interment in the church cemetery.
