FARMVILLE – Police say they have seized 14 pounds of marijuana as a result of an undercover investigation in the Farmville and Prince Edward area.
A press release issued this week by the Farmville Police Department announced that two area men have been arrested and charged in connection with the investigation.
“On December 6, 2012, detectives with the Farmville Police Department and Longwood University Police Department concluded an extensive investigation into the illegal sale of marijuana,” the release states.
“Undercover purchases of marijuana (led) to the execution of a search warrant (in the Rice area)…The investigation resulted in the seizure of 14 pounds of marijuana, having a street value of $27,000, $66,822 in U.S. currently, and a 1996 Chevrolet Caprice,” the police department release continues.
Police say the investigation “targeted a major marijuana distribution operation in the Farmville/Prince Edward County area.”
