The shooting of Dione Booker, who scored six of his team-high 14 points in the first half, coupled with the inside play of Harry Bailey, who also scored six of his ten points before halftime, gave the Dukes the slim lead at the break.

Both offenses picked up the pace in the third quarter. Cumberland's DeAundre Brooks hit the Dukes' only three-pointer of the night in the third, while Banks, who was held to just four points in the first half scored eight points in the third quarter to keep the Eagles close.

Trailing 39-37 at the end of the third quarter, PE finally found its rhythm, as the Eagles out-scored the Dukes 18-6.

Vilante Eanes scored seven of his 13 points in the final stanza, and Amonte Vaughn added six of his ten points in the fourth, as the Eagles pulled away for the ten-point victory.

Prince Edward was scheduled to travel to Central on Tuesday and host Randolph-Henry on Wednesday night before beginning Southside District play at Brunswick on Friday.

Cumberland was scheduled to travel to Fluvanna on Wednesday, before beginning play in the James River District on Friday night at Randolph-Henry.
