NEW CANTON, December 13 – Joyce Thomas Christian (ToJo) of New Canton went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at age 80. He was born May 27, 1932 in Gold Hill. His final days were spent surrounded by his loving family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Christian of 58 years; children, Pam Shumaker and husband, Mike, Robbin Hud-dleston and husband, David, and Mark Christian and wife, Christy; brother, Leslie Haden Christian and wife, Pauline; his treas-ured grandchildren, Tara Tapscott, Stephanie Dickerson, Justin Huddleston, Ashley Lewis, Rachel Christian, and Leslie Chris-tian; and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Henry Leslie and Bernice Duncan Christian.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 14 at Buckingham Baptist Church. The family would like to invite guests to join them in the fellowship hall of the church following the service.

Memorial donations may be made to Heritage Hall Resident Fund, 119 Brickyard Drive, Dillwyn, VA 23936. Condolences may be offered at the funeral home.
