BUCKINGHAM, December 11 – Howard (Bigum) Sydney Stanley, 82, of Buckingham died Sunday, December 9, 2012 in McGuire Veterans Hospital. He was born May 21, 1930 in Buckingham County to the late Henry M. and Louise Reynolds Stanley.

He is survived by two sons, Troy Glen Stanley and wife, Annette of Concord and Howard Robert (Bobby) Stanley and wife, Pam of Buckingham; two sisters, Virginia Martin of Appomattox and Mary Lou Ranson of NC; brother, Samuel (Bo) Stanley of Pamplin and three grandsons. He was preceded in death by a special friend, Leona Scruggs.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 13, at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Buckingham, with interment in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery, Union Church Rd.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dunkum Funeral Home.
