RICE, December 27 – Gracie Franklin Giles, 86, of Rice, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2012 at her residence. She was born February 13, 1926 in Tennessee to the late Eschol and Villard Gentry Franklin. Mrs. Giles was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family. She loved her church and tending to her flower gardens.

She is survived by her husband, Edward M. Giles Jr.; children, Jerry Giles (Jo Ann) of Prospect, Glen Giles (Sherry) of Rice, Theresa Thompson (Dale) of Farmville and Rickey Giles (Sharon) also of Farmville; three brothers, Dennis Franklin of Wilmington, NC, J.D. Franklin of Dale City and Grady Franklin of Laplata, MD; eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four siblings.

A funeral service was held on Monday, December 24, at the chapel of Puckett Funeral Home with interment in Trinity Memorial Gardens in Rice.
