November 29 – Happy Birthday wishes are sent out to Wilburn Whitehead and Alice Deane, of Dillwyn, celebrating on Friday, November 30; Dylan Cloud (son of Rev. Cameron and Lynn Cloud of Cumberland), celebrating on Monday, December 3; Daniel Morris, of Dillwyn, and Toney Clifton, of Appomattox, celebrating on Wednesday, December 5; and Doris Allen of Dillwyn, celebrating on Thursday, December 6.
Twenty-five family members enjoyed a Thanksgiving Feast in the home of the T.J. (Tommy Jo) and Stephanie Waycaster family in Dillwyn on Sunday afternoon, November 25. This was their first Thanksgiving in their new home after moving from Powhatan.
Barry and Linda Miles, of Cumberland, were evening dinner guests in the home of Pete and Annie May Miles in Dillwyn on Thanksgiving Day, November 22.
Ann Carter, of Dillwyn, had eighteen family members to gather at her home on Thanksgiving Day for great food and fellowship.
Barry and Linda Miles visited in the home of Bill and Opal Pembelton in Powhatan on Wednesday, November 28.
Very special Happy Anniversary wishes go out this week to Toney and Joyce Clifton, of Appomattox. They will celebrate Wednesday, December 5.
A number of family members enjoyed a time of great food, fun and fellowship at a Thanksgiving Day Luncheon on Thursday, November 22 at the home of Ruby Cogdill in Cumberland.
A speedy recovery is wished for our dear friend in Christ Margaret Yates of Dillwyn who underwent outpatient surgery. She is said to be getting along nicely as of this writing.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those who are sick and shut-in everywhere.

Browns Chapel United Methodist Church, located off of U.S. Route 15 North of Dillwyn on State Route 617 (Gravel Hill Rd.) in Dillwyn will be holding a drive thru spaghetti supper with all the trimmings on Friday evening, December 7 from 5-7 p.m. This event is on a donation basis. All proceeds resulting from this event will help to defray the cost of their new church sign.
The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association will host their annual Christmas Banquet on Saturday, December 1 at the VFW Hall (located off U.S. Route 60 in Buckingham). All members are cordially invited to attend and bring a vegetable, salad, bread or dessert items. Note: meats and beverages will be provided by the association. Browns Chapel United Methodist Church in Dillwyn will host their annual Children's Christmas Program on Sunday evening, December 2 at 6 p.m. Refreshments will follow in the church fellowship hall. Pastor Bob Jennings and the entire congregation cordially invite all to attend.
Arvonia Christian Fellowship Church, located off of U.S. Route 15 North of Dillwyn in Arvonia on State Route 672, will host a Gospel Sing on Sunday, December 2 at 1 p.m. featuring Southern Gospel Music at its best with Smokey Wilson from Concord. A love offering will be received. Following this will be a buffet lunch in the church fellowship hall. All are cordially invited to attend.
The Arvonia Christian Fellowship Church Thrift Store, located off of U.S. Route 15 North of Dillwyn on Circle Drive in Arvonia, is open Monday through Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All proceeds from the Thrift Store are used to help individuals and families in their hour of need. Cedar Baptist Church, located just off of U.S. Rt. 15 North of Dillwyn on State Rt. 650 (Trents Mill Rd.) hosts a Men's Promise Keepers Prayer Breakfast Sunday mornings (excluding fifth Sundays) from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
