ARVONIA, October 4 – Lucille Christian Hudgins, 89, of Arvonia, died Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at her home. She was born November 8, 1922 in Buckingham County to the late James Oscar and Nellie Davis Christian.

She is survived by a son, Michael Lewis Hudgins of Arvonia and a sister, June C. McGee of Mechanicsville. She was the widow of James Lewis Hudgins.

A funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in New Canton with interment in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the Dunkum Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Arvonia Fire Department or the Buckingham County Rescue Squad.
