PROSPECT, October 11 – John Henry Grunert, 83, of Prospect passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2012 in Lynchburg. He was the husband of the late Barbara Gandini Grunert and son of the late John and Sadie Brett Grunert.

Mr. Grunert was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was retired as a salesman with Nabisco.

He is survived by a son, John A. Grunert and wife, Jeanne of Prospect; daughter, Jacalyn A. Graziano and husband, Michael of Massapequa Park, NY and grandson, Michael Graziano Jr.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, October 12, in Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia, with military honors.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
