Cumberland County seeks to hire a firm experienced with installing water line connections. The County is currently constructing approximately 1.9 miles of a 12-inch and 10-inch water main along the north side of Anderson Highway (Route 60) and along Fleming Rd (Route 619).

Sealed BIDS shall include a total LUMP SUM cost to install a service lateral from the water meter box located along the public right-of-way to the individual household for twenty-two (22) households along Route 60 and Fleming Road which meet the standards for low-to-moderate income criteria. The length of the individual service lateral varies from approximately 50 feet to about 600 feet. A list of the addresses of the twenty-two (22) households will be provided by the County for qualified contractors upon request.

A non-mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled for this invitation for bids at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 in the Old Clerk's Office, 1 Courthouse Circle, Cumberland, VA 23040. Sealed BIDS for the installation of connections of individual households of the County's Waterline Extension project will be received at the Cumberland County Administration Building, 1 Courthouse Circle, P.O. Box 110, Cumberland VA 23040, until 2:00 PM on Friday, November 9, 2012, and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud. BIDDERS must be licensed as a Contractor in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the selected contractor must provide adequate proof of insurance and bonding to the County.

Cumberland County reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive formalities or irregularities, and select the firm whose qualifications, experience, and proposed services are, in the sole judgment of the County, determined to be in the County's best interest.
