GREEN BAY, October 2 – Hazel Grace Ashby Davis, 79, of Green Bay, passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2012 in Farmville. She was born July 11, 1933 in Rice to the late Willie James and Ethel Green King Ashby. She was the widow of William Monroe Davis. Mrs. Davis was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her children, Harry Davis of Green Bay, Andy Davis (Mary) of Appomattox and JC Davis of Rice; siblings, William Ashby of Appomattox, Johnny Ashby (Phyllis) and Jessie Ashby (Betty Massie) both of Rustburg, Nannie Tidwell of Lynchburg and Dorothy Bohanan of Sevierville, Tennessee; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and children, William Monroe Davis Jr., Richard, James, Randy and Terry Davis, brother, Frank Ashby and sister, Shirley Ashby.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 3, at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Puckett Funeral Home with interment to follow in Trinity Memorial Gardens.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday (tonight), October 2, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
