PAMPLIN, October 16 – Elias Harold Jones, 17, of Pamplin, passed away in Charlottesville on Saturday, October 13, 2012. He was the son of Dennis Harold and Patricia Frances Jones.

He was a senior at Prince Edward County High School and a student at Southside Community College. He was very active at his school; a member of the cross-country team, indoor track team, and outdoor track team, and a member of the band. He was a member of Boy Scout Troop #6596 and was the Junior Assistant Scout Master. He attended St. Theresa Catholic Church where he was very active and loved by all church members.

Mr. Jones is survived by his parents; siblings, Emily Jones of Northboro, Massachusetts, Benjamin Jones of Farmville and Naomi Jones of Pamplin; grandparents, Frank and Anita Noyes of East Hartford, Connecticut and Bertha Jones of Spout Spring; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Harold Jones.

A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, October 17, at 5:30 p.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Farmville, with a reception to follow at the Parish Center.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 16, from 6-9 p.m. at the Puckett Funeral Home.
