SEPTEMBER 11 – Wilma Allen Oertel, of Farmville, passed away at her home on Monday, September 10, 2012. She was born in Sevierville, TN on September 21, 1930 to the late Edith Allen and Dayton Allen.

She worked in Farmville as a bank branch manager at First National/First Virginia Bank until her retirement. She was loved by her friends and customers at the bank.

Mrs. Oertel is survived by her husband, Willie Oertel Jr; children, Donna O. Ennis (James), Debbie O. Nash (Robert), Dottie O. Dice (Joseph) and Willie Oertel III; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Baldwin (Benjamin), Amber Noblin, Robert Chambers, Megan Sims (Will), Ashley Noblin, John Chambers, Abbie Oertel, and Willie Oertel IV; and four great-grandchildren, Preston Sutton, Landon Sutton, Randy Sims and Simone Noblin. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Fern R. Allen, Dayton S. Allen Jr. and Kenneth D. Allen and an infant sister.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 13, at Cumberland Presbyterian Church at 1 p.m.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, September 12, from 7 p.m.-8:30p.m. at Puckett Funeral Home.
