August 16 – Happy Birthday wishes are sent out to: Lillian Styers, of Drakes Branch, celebrating on Friday, August 17; Barry Miles, 49, of Cumberland, and Pastor Jim Lough of West Virginia, celebrating on Saturday, August 18; Mattie Bell Gilliam, of Dillwyn, celebrating on Monday, August 20; and Bea England, of Dillwyn, celebrating Thursday, August 23.
Our sympathy is extended to the Baker Family of Richmond. Earlene Janet Baker, 76, went home to be with the Lord on August 9. Funeral services were held Saturday, August 11 at West Hampton Memorial Park in Henrico. She was special and loved by all who knew her. She was a Godly example of a true Christian.
Our thoughts and prayers go out this week to those who are sick and shut-in.
Barry and Linda Miles, of Cumberland, along with Darlene Christian of New Canton, enjoyed an evening of food, fun and fellowship at a Farmville Restaurant on Thursday, August 9.
A large crowd attended the annual former Craddock Terry Shoe Factor breakfast meeting, held on Saturday, August 11, at Country Cookin' in Farmville. All enjoyed great fellowship and food.

The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association, a non-profit organization will not meet due to a death and other conflicts. The regular monthly meeting has been changed from Saturday, August 11 to Saturday, August 18, at 1 p.m. at Rocky Mount United Methodist Church, located on U.S. Route 15 North of Dillwyn. All members are cordially invited to attend and bring a covered dish. Tea will be provided by the association. Following the meeting will be a jam session with singers and musicians.
