The Prince Edward Farmville Youth Association Darlings Dixie Softball Team (coach pitch) will begin play in the Virginia State Tournament on Saturday, July 14 at 6 p.m. in Amherst.

The PEFYA team drew the Day One bye, and will play the Hallifax American/Amherst National winner in the five-team, double-elimination bracket.

The winner of Saturday's game will advance to the 8 p.m. game on Sunday to face the Amherst American/Amelia winner, who play on Friday, before receiving a bye. The loser will play in the 6 p.m. elimination game on Sunday.

The tournament will continue until next Tuesday or Wednesday.

The winner of the tournament will advance to the Dixie Darlings World Series to be played in Georgetown County SC, on July 27.
